08/23/15 - Happy 65th birthday party! - on Saturday, September 26, from noon until 4:00 pm, heveryone is invited to the Boray Park Pavilion for a picnic to celebrate our Medicare birthdays. Food will be potluck and out-of-towners are welcome to bring deli salads, chips, etc. (i.e. things that don't require a kitchen). The park has a grill in case anyone would like to bring a burger or hotdog to cook. We'll provide bottled water, as well as plates, napkins and eating utensils. If you'd like some other beverage, feel free to bring it (we'll secure a beer/wine permit so adult beverages will be okay.) Of course we'll also have a celebratory birthday cake!!! Hope you can attend and enjoy some conversation and conviviality!

10/11/13 - New page about deceased classmates - a page has been added to remember our deceased classmates. You're invited to submit a memory or tribute. Click here to view the new page.

9/19/13 - Classmate biographies now in password protected area - after discussion with a few classmates about privacy of information, we decided to put the biographies that you've submitted over the years in the same password-protected area as our address list. If you've forgotten the Username and Password, you can request a reminder here.

9/19/13 - 45th Reunion photos now available - photos from the many fun events that were part of our 45th reunion have been gathered into albums for your viewing enjoyment. We've also "repatriated" photos from the 40th reunion. You no longer have to visit Snapfish to view them. Click here for the 45th photos and here for the 40th.

9/9/2013 - 45th Reunion now part of history - Our August gathering was great! Thanks to all who planned it and to everyone who participated. Check out the recap here.

2/11/2013 - Scholarship Endowment - a group of classmates has undertaken to establish an endowment of $25,000, dedicated to providing a scholarship each year to a Borah student. Early fund raising has put the endowment close to the goal. Please see the scholarship page for more information on this great effort!

10/30/12 - Date Change - We've set a new date for our reunion - August 23 & 24. Be sure to save the dates!

10/5/12 - 45th Reunion News - We've started planning on a 45th reunion to be held sometime in the late summer/early fall 2013. We recently learned of an all-Ada-County/all-1960s-graduates reunion that was held in September, 2012, up in McCall. A reprise of the gathering is planned for the weekend of September 14, 2013, again up in McCall. Not wanting to have our event conflict with what promises to be a great party, we're working to find a date that works for most classmates. We'll be announcing a date soon. Current plans include an evening gathering on Saturday, with several day-time activities, including a women's lunch, a green belt walk, tours of South, West and Borah, a bike ride and a river float.

1/18/11 - Borah Alumni/Booster Luau - Hard to believe that it's been more than two years since we added any news to this page but I guess things naturally quiet down for a while after a reunion. But we've recently learned of a great opportunity to help Borah thrive in the challenging environment in which it now exists.

Here's an excerpt from a letter we've been asked to share with classmates: Borah High is hosting its first evening dinner/auction March 12, 2011, to celebrate over 50 years of Lion Pride. It's time for Borah to reach out to our stakeholders, gather the Lion Pride and celebrate our successes over the years! Click here to view the entire letter. Click here to view a flyer with more details about the Luau. Finally, click here if you can help with a donation. This promises to be a really fun event and a way to support the school. Jim Perkins' Mulligan Band is going to be entertaining - this is a group that consists of alumni musicians, some of whom are just becoming reacquainted with their instruments!

12/22/08 -Saturday Breakfast Bunch - To keep the spirit of our reunion alive, a bunch of folks decided to get together for breakfast once a month. On the first Saturday of each month, everyone is invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. at Eddie's, a restaurant in the Overland Park shopping center (7067 Overland). The group is growing each month and we hope you'll all join us and also spread the word!

12/02/08 -The Reunion DVD is Here! - The video that was filmed during our reunion by the two Borah students has been edited and it turned out great!  The Safari Sisters got a preview at their recent holiday brunch at Kathy Birch Durbin's home and pronounced it a fun memory of the weekend some of us were able to share in August. For the low price of $5 plus $3 for packaging and postage, you can share in the memories.

If you were able to attend the reunion, it'll be a great reminder of how fun it was to reconnect with classmates, and if you were unable to be there, it'll be a chance to get a sense of what the reunion was like - and see old friends in action. You can order a copy of the DVD by sending a check for $8 to:

Once you’ve registered, you will need the room code to access the reunion photos – the code is emansive.

09/01/08 - Borah's 50th Anniversary - The 2008 – 2009 school year marks Borah’s 50th year of existence and they’re planning some commemorative events throughout the year. As I hear about them, I’ll be passing on the information to all of you. Following is the first announcement I received:

Boise High Class of ’68 Reunion

Sounds like a really fun opportunity to see old friends from the other schools - or just rock out to great tunes by the Mystics! I checked with Frank and he said that they'd appreciate an email letting them know if you're planning to stop by but no pre-registration is necessary. Dress is "nice-casual".

05/12/08 - New Pages - we've added two new pages to the web site. First, some additional pictures - from South Junior High, when we were 9th graders. We've also added a page of Links that we hope will be of interest to classmates. Suggestions for additional links are encouraged! We've also added some Hawthorne grade school photos to the Grade School page - they came to us with no names attached so help identifying people would be much appreciated.

03/09/08 - More school farewells - several other schools are being replaced in the fall and there are good-bye celebrations planned to bid adieu to them:

02/13/08 - Invitations have been mailed! - Thanks to the Committee and especially Sherry Allen Smith, the reunion invitation and registration information have been mailed to everyone for whom we have an home address. You can also view the invitation and download the registration form here.

12/17/07 - South Junior High 60th Celebration and Reunion - February 21, 2008 - this comes from Chris Cline: Celebrate 60 years of Bobcat pride and tradition! All current and former students, faculty and community are invited. - Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 from 7 - 9 p.m. - South Junior High Auditorium. 805 Shoshone, Boise. - Program includes a slideshow, musical performances and fun! Enjoy a walk down memory lane with a tour of the old building before it is torn down. (We move to the new South being built next door, in July.) - Bring your old photos to submit them for our digital time capsule. All photos will be scanned and returned the night of the event. - Questions? Contact Ms. Cline, Chairperson - 854-6110 ext 157. christina.cline@boiseschools.org

11/23/07 - Committee Seeking Talent and Ideas - In the interest of keeping our reunion affordable, the reunion committee decided to see if there are any Annie Liebovitz or Casey Kasem wannabes out there who would be willing to help out with photography and music. Friday night and Saturday, we’d like some candid photos.  If you’re into filmmaking, video would be great as well.  And we’d like to have a nice group shot, probably at the Powerhouse on Saturday night. Also on Saturday night, it would be great to find someone who loves oldies and could do DJ duty so we can prove that we can still hustle (or twist or watusi) with the best of them. If either opportunity sounds good to you, let us know – or if you know of someone who could help us out at an affordable cost, we’d like to hear about that as well. Finally, we’re asking people to send us their favorite memory from their years at Borah – academic, athletic, extracurricular, or whatever.  We’re looking for inspiration for our Saturday night program entertainment. If either opportunity sounds good to you, let us know. Or if you know of someone who could help us out at an affordable cost, we'd like to hear about that as well. Contact Denise or Paula.

10/23/07 - Reunion Events - We'll be getting together Friday and Saturday, August 15 & 16, 2008.  Our Friday night event will be at Kathy Birch Durbin's home in Boise. It's going to be a casual evening of conversation and reconnection. On Saturday morning, there will be a golf scramble and, for non-golfers, a walk along the greenbelt. Mid-day, there will be a luncheon at Borah for our women classmates and then, in the afternoon, a tour of the school, for anyone who'd like to see how the campus has changed over 40 years. Saturday evening's event will be held at the Powerhouse, a new event center near downtown Boise. There will be a buffet dinner, brief program and then dancing to tunes spun by a DJ.

07/21/07 - Bummer - Just received word from Tom that the concert was cancelled.

07/06/07 - Fun event! Just received the following from Tom Warner:

Hello Borah alums,
Do you remember the Quirks? They were a great local band that played in
Boise when we were in high school. See an old photo here:
http://pnwbands.com/quirks.html

They're having a reunion concert Friday August 3rd at the Mardi Gras.
Profits will go to Make A Wish Foundation and the Boise High School Music
Program. It should be quite a nostalgia event.

Tickets will probably be $7.50. It sounds like a food vendor (maybe Chris
the Saladman, who is married to the former Sharon Lee, a classmate of ours)
will be selling food from 6:00 - 9:00 and you can bring it inside to eat and
visit with old friends who show up.

I may be out of town, but it ought to be a fun event for those who can make
it.

04/06/07 - Bulletin board/forum - The bulletin board has recently become a target for spammers so we've changed it to require both registration and membership in the Classmates group. To use the forum (and we really hope to get some fun conversations going), you must first follow the registration instructions. Then, after you have "activated" your registration, you need to follow the Usergroup link at the top of the page. Click on "View Information" on the right side of the page, and then on the next page, click "Join Group". To help verify that you're part of the intended audience, please use your real name to register for the forum. You can change your username later on, if you want to.

01/30/07 - Reunion Theme - The reunion committee is looking for help in coming up with a theme for our reunion weekend. There's a t-shirt in it for the classmate who comes up with the winning suggestion! Please send your ideas to Paula by March 15, 2007.

11/08/06 - Save the Dates - Thanks to everyone who has returned the reunion survey! Based on the responses, the reunion committee has set the dates for the reunion. We'll be gathering on the weekend of August 15 & 16, 2008 (Friday and Saturday). Feedback is still welcome on other aspects of the gathering (location, food, music, extra activities) so if you'd still like to weigh in, drop a note to Paula.

11/08/06 - More "Lost" Classmates - Back in September, we mailed postcards to everyone we don't have an e-dress for, announcing the survey. A number of them came back marked undeliverable, indicating that the last known address we had was no longer useful. Those individuals been moved to the "without addresses" list and we'd appreciate it if everyone would scan that list to see if they can provide updated addresses for anyone listed there.

09/13/06 - Security for Home/Email Addresses - You will now be required to enter a user name and password to access the page that contains classmates' home and email addresses. To minimize the chance for misuse of the data, access to the page is restricted to Borah 1968 graduates and those who attended Borah but graduated elsewhere in 1968. To keep it simple, the name and password are the same for everyone who's eligible. The user name and password have been emailed to everyone for whom we have an edress (as of 09/13/06). Others may fill out the request form found on the Check Addresses page.

09/01/06 - Reunion Survey - Denise Alexander Bittner and the reunion committee designed a survey to find out what people would value most for our 40th reunion. If you didn't receive a note about the survey and would like to participate, just drop a note to Paula.

09/01/06 - New Bulletin Board/Forum - To make the website more useful as we start planning for the 40th reunion, we've upgraded our web hosting, and now have access to more useful tools. We've added a bulletin board/forum that can be used to post general comments, and carry on "conversations" with other classmates. There's one board that can be accessed by the general public - perhaps someone from Boise or Capital, or a person who was ahead of or behind us at Borah, or maybe a brother or sister of a classmate. There is also a board set up to be used only by members of Borah's class of '68 (even if they didn't actually graduate from Borah.) This board requires registration and membership in a group called Classmates. There are instructions on the board for joining the group. We'll use this board for sharing reunion information, among other things.

08/22/06 - 40th Reunion - Egad! Is it that time already? We're getting an early start on planning for our next reunion (everything takes longer at our age, you know.) One big change is that Donna Kom has finally been allowed to pass along the leadership mantle - she's done an outstanding job on the 4 reunions we've had so far and we owe her a big debt of gratitude. Denise Alexander Bittner has agreed to become our RPinC (Reunion Planner in Chief) and is starting to assemble her planning committee. The first meeting is planned for October 14. If you're interested in helping out, please contact Denise for more details.

5/6/06 - Borah 1966 - Just discovered a website for the class of 1966 - www.borahclassof66.com. It's fun to browse and see what those folks we looked up to when we were but insignificant sophomores are doing.

1/23/06
A New Photo Page - I've added a page of grade school photos. Looking for the inner child? Check this out to help you find him/her.
